What is BLS Training?
Basic Life Support (BLS) training is a foundational course for healthcare professionals and others who may need to respond to emergencies. It provides instruction on:
Recognizing emergencies: Identifying when someone is experiencing cardiac or respiratory arrest.
High-quality CPR: Providing effective chest compressions, ventilations, and using an AED
(Automated External Defibrillator).
Chain of Survival: Understanding the critical steps in survival — early access, early CPR,
early defibrillation, early advanced care.
Team dynamics: Working effectively with others during a resuscitation.
Foreign body airway obstruction (choking): Learning techniques for adults, children, and infants.
First Aid Basics: Bleeding control, burns, fractures, seizures, allergic reactions,
diabetic emergencies, and more.

How is BLS Delivered?
We offer two convenient training formats to fit different needs:
1. HeartCode BLS (Blended Learning)
The AHA’s BLS blended delivery method
Format: Online learning + in-person skills session
Time:
Online portion: ~1–2 hours (self-paced)
Hands-on skills session: 60–120 minutes (depends on student’s experience)
2. Classroom BLS (Instructor-Led)
Hands-on, instructor-led format reinforcing skill proficiency
Focus on high-quality CPR, team dynamics, and real-world application
Taught for both single-rescuer and team-based response in prehospital and in-facility settings
Time:
Full BLS Provider Course: ~4.5 hours (includes skills practice + testing)
BLS Renewal Course: ~3 hours (includes skills practice + testing)
Course time based on 1 instructor : 6 students

Certification must be renewed every two years.


The Heartsaver CPR, AED & First Aid course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who wants to be prepared to respond in an emergency. This American Heart Association course equips you with the skills and confidence to take action when it matters most.

How is Heartsaver Delivered?

1. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Online (Blended Learning)
Format: Online course + in-person skills session
Description: The online course teaches students the core information needed for first aid, CPR, and AED training. Once complete, students must attend a hands-on skills session with an instructor to practice and demonstrate proficiency.
Time:
Online course: ~1 ¼ to 3 hours (varies by course path & selected topics)
Hands-on skills session: ~2 ¼ hours*
Learner times vary; breaks not included in skills session timing
2. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Classroom Course
Format: Instructor-led, hands-on training
Description: A video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency until EMS arrives. Uses AHA’s practice-while-watching technique for real-time feedback and skill mastery.
Time: ~2 ¼ hours (including optional lessons and breaks)
Certification
Course Completion e-Card from the American Heart Association, valid for 2 years
Training includes a manual and quick reference materials for continued learning

What is the booking process?
Why is AED training included in all your CPR courses?
The science in the official AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC shows that victims have a greater chance of survival from cardiac arrest when high-quality CPR includes use of an AED.
Are your courses OSHA compliant?
Our Heartsaver Courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. While these courses are designed to meet OSHA requirements, OSHA does not review or approve any courses for compliance.
